About
Namaste, I’m Dr. Katharina Austermann from Germany. Ever since I could speak, I’ve been driven by an insatiable curiosity, constantly asking, “Why?” I grew up in a small village in the Eifel, surrounded by forests and nature, where I spent countless hours outdoors, deeply connected to my intuition.
In my late twenties, while working at the University of Bonn as a research assistant, I realized that my head-based studies were causing me to lose touch with my inner wisdom. Seeking to reconnect with my intuition, I started practicing Yoga asana. Almost immediately, I knew I had found something that spoke directly to my soul.
True to my inquisitive nature, I wanted to move deeper and decided to pursue a Yoga teacher training, learning from Indian teachers to understand the roots of this wonderful practice.
Reflecting on my childhood, I realized that in many ways, I had been practicing Yoga all along by being close to nature and listening to the guidance within. This realization inspired me to start teaching Yoga and share this life-changing practice with others.
While in Bali, I met Sandeep. Our connection was instant, blossoming into a deep love. Together with his brother Ankur we founded Anandam Yoga School.
Our mission is to share the transformative practice of Yoga, spreading its wisdom not only in India but across the globe.
I am deeply fascinated by the science behind Yoga and love combining the philosophy of Yoga with modern scientific research. I aim to bridge ancient wisdom with contemporary knowledge, leading people back to their inner knowing to live a life according to their soul’s purpose.
