100 Hours Pre & Postnatal Yoga Training in Germany

Pregnancy and the postpartum period are transformative phases in a woman’s life, and yoga has the incredible potential to nurture and support this journey. Yoga during pregnancy helps to prepare the body for labor and childbirth and can be used for pain management, improves sleep and helps to balance energy.

Through this course, we aim to equip you with a deep understanding of the physiological, mental and emotional changes that occur during pregnancy and after childbirth. You will learn how to adapt traditional yoga practices to cater specifically to the unique needs and challenges faced by expectant mothers and new mothers.

Our 100 hour pre and postnatal Yoga training in the Eifel Nationalpark in Heimbach, Germany is a 12 days course and we will work about 8-10 hours together every day.

This course is embedded in the YACEP program of Yoga Alliance and you can add the 100 hours of this course to your continuous education hours.

Program Highlights

This 100 hours pre and postnatal Yoga training program is designed to provide you with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to guide women through safe and effective pre and postnatal yoga practices. Our holistic approach includes asanas, breathing techniques and pranayama, meditation, and mindfulness techniques, all tailored to promote physical strength, mental clarity, and emotional well-being during these transitional phases.

Yoga practices for each trimester

In our Pre and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training, we dedicate a segment to understanding and adapting yoga practices for each trimester, honoring the unique changes occurring at every stage of pregnancy. We’ll practice daily yoga classes tailored to the needs of each trimester, allowing trainees to experience first-hand the adaptative practices suited for the different stages of pregnancy. Each session is thoughtfully designed to align with the physical, mental, and emotional shifts that occur throughout pregnancy.

Asanas, or yoga postures, are a cornerstone of our Pre and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training. During pregnancy, we emphasize gentle yet effective asanas such as modified sun salutations, squats, pelvic tilts, and cat-cow stretches to alleviate lower back pain, enhance pelvic floor strength and flexibility, and encourage optimal fetal positioning. In the postpartum phase, asanas like pelvic floor exercises, modified plank poses, and restorative poses with props aid in the gradual restoration of core strength and pelvic stability.

In the asana alignment classes of our pre and postnatal yoga course you will learn how to adapt the Yoga postures for the different stages of pregnancy and postpartum, there postural alignment and the effective use of props. We also speak about benefits, cautions and contraindications.

In the pre and postnatal Yoga fundamentals classes we will speak about why Yoga is beneficial during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. We will discuss Yoga guidelines for pregnancy to give you the confidence to guide expectant mothers safely through their pregnancy.

Throughout pregnancy, mindful breathing techniques provide a valuable tool for expectant mothers to increase oxygen supply, improve. circulation and detoxification. reduce stress and manage anxiety. You will learn different breathing techniques for the different pregnancy trimesters, labor, childbirth and breathing and pranayama techniques that can be used postpartum to support physical recovery and emotional healing.

Meditation

Positive thinking, loving kindness and body awareness are essential during pregnancy and after giving birth. Meditation is a powerful tool to allow for positive thoughts and we are covering several guided mediation techniques that you can use during your pre and postnatal Yoga classes, including breathing awareness, loving kindness meditation, mantra chanting, visualization and body scans.

In the yogic anatomy we will dive deeper into the concepts of

  • Prana and its role in pregnancy

  • Pancha Prana with emphasis on how each supports different aspects of pregnancy
  • Pancha Koshas
  • Shatkarma techniques for pregnancy

In the anatomy classes you will learn more about the physiological changes during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. We will speak about the impact these physical changes have on the mental and emotional wellbeing of expectant and new mothers. We also cover specific pregnancy conditions and complications and how we can accommodate these through the Yoga practice in this pre and postnatal Yoga teacher training in Germany.

Is a 200 hour Yoga teacher training certificate required for participation in this training?

Yes, a completed 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with a Yoga Alliance registered Yoga School (RYS) is mandatory to join this Pre and postnatal Yoga Teacher Training.

Yes, your own pregnancy is a perfect time to join this pre and postnatal Yoga training! This program offers valuable tools and practices to support your own pregnancy journey while learning how to teach others. We recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before enrolling to ensure this training aligns with your personal needs and health.

Our average class size is 4 to 14 students. We believe in individualized support thus the smaller group size. It allows us to support every student on their personal Yoga journey.

The youngest student we had was 18 and the oldest student we had so far was 60. So, we have quite a wide age range, which beautifully allows Yoginis and Yogis of different ages to learn from each other.

We offer different course packages including accommodation and food. The course fee includes all study materials, Yoga Alliance certification after successful completion, all meals and the accommodation option you choose.

Yes, this Pre and postnatal Yoga teacher training is registered with Yoga Alliance and you will receive a Yoga Alliance affiliated certificate after successful completion. It is part of the Yoga Alliance Continuous Eduation Program (YACEP) and you can add this 100 h to your continuous education. 

What topics are covered in the training?

The nearest airports are Cologne (CGN) airport and Düsseldorf (DUS) airport, from there you can reach us by public transport – Train to Düren Bahnhof and then from Düren to Heimbach (Eifel). There we will come and pick you up at the train station.

Please bring comfortable, ideally light cotton clothes for the practice; white clothes for the opening and closing ceremonies; your everyday toiletries; house shoes; maybe some warmer clothes; comfortable shoes if you like to go for a walk or hike; and all you think you need for a wonderful time in the Eifel National Park.

Yes, sure! We offer three vegetarian/vegan meals per day, but don’t have any restrictions in regards of the consumption of caffeine.

Practice Yoga regularly, drink enough water, try to cultivate a positive and open mindset, try to get enough rest and take time for relaxation.

To reserve your spot in the course we kindly ask you to deposit $500. This deposit is non-refundable. In case you have to cancel the training for any reason, the deposit can be applied to a later training.
